TWO GENUINE VINTAGE WORLD WAR TWO AIRCRAFT FLYING FROM A FORMER RAF WARTIME BASE

This is a truly amazing combination of two very special experiences with the rare chance to experience the best of two worlds.

Firstly flying in the mighty T6 Warbird with the chance to take the controls yourself.

If this is not exciting enough, the iconic Spitfire will then join you in formation and fly alongside your aircraft, giving you superb views of the Mk IX Spitfire in flight and the exhilarating feeling of flying alongside one of the world’s best loved and most famous aircraft.

Fly alongside the Spitfire – the icon of British aviation will fly in formation with your aircraft.

Throughout the flight you will hear all communication between the Spitfire pilot and Harvard pilot as they talk to each other and to Air Traffic Control at Duxford.

What happens on the day

Guests gather for tea & coffee in the Pilots’ Briefing Room based in the original 1940s Control Tower with superb views over the airfield and runway. Duxford is a live, working airfield so you never know what you might see flying on the day.

After a pre-flight briefing from your instructor and a walk round of the aircraft, it is time to climb up into the cockpit and prepare for your flying lesson in the Harvard T6 Warbird. Taxy to the Hold where your instructor will effect the take off and climb into the air. During the flight he will demonstrate the controls then give you the chance to take the controls for yourself. You will be piloting a Warbird – awesome!

During the flight, the iconic Spitfire will make its appearance alongside the aircraft and fly around, above and beside the Harvard to give you some breathtaking views of this legendary aircraft actually in flight, right beside you!

If you love flying, love the Spitfire and enjoy the adrenaline rush of being in the air with these two superb aircraft, there is no better experience!
